School Spirit

Yesterday was Homecoming for the school I teach at... I and another teacher went around to all of the booths and bought their "goodies"... and for 50 cents I got my face painted by the art club! :) Wade snapped a picture to upload to facebook...

Anyhow... the outcome of the night:

Carondelet 5K!!

We did it, I survived! Julie was always going to survive, and I did just fine. She was a great help-- my cheerleader! She pushed me through the end- to pick up the pace and finish strong! Thanks Julie! You are the best!

5K map for tomorrow...

Can you believe it? I am running a 5K?!?!?! My good friend Julie is joining me, because she is awesome! (did I mention she's preparing for a marathon and this will be a simple stroll in the park for her?)

I am looking forward to it, though I admit- just a little bit nervous!

Mt. Lemmon

We spent today at Mt. Lemmon. We had a great time exploring. It was nice to relax and enjoy the day.

Wade points out "frog mountain".

Valerie at one of the lookouts we stopped at.

The poor butterfly didn't make it, but the ants are surely happy to take care of it!

Overall we had a great day. It was nice to escape work for one day and spend the day with Wade.

Just Do It!

Play along with me!!

Here is how:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember.
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory of you.

It's actually pretty funny to the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

ICE

To see a video advertisement for the show go to: http://www.vegas.com/video/shows/ice/full_index.html

While in Vegas for an Education Conference- myself and a teacher from my school attended the show "ICE" at the Riviera. It was a great show of incredible strength, balance, acrobatics and beauty all on ice skates! We had great seats! The stage was unique in that there was the main stage and then a 4' strip of ice that went around the front part of the audience. We were sitting just on the outside of that strip-- so that when they would skate by- we could feel the cool breeze and occasionally get sprayed by ice.

The funny part of the show happened to be when one of the characters, who was already providing comic relief- as the maintenance man who kept getting into the show one way or another- had his uniform ripped from him and he was wearing the flashy outfits of the rest of the cast. He was SOOOO happy that he skated around the stage out onto the strip that goes into the audience and then he stopped. He stopped right in front of me, raised his eyebrow, and started flirting with me.... and then in true Vegas style began to dance for me, unbuttoning his shirt, showing me his shoulder...lol! Meanwhile, I was turning multiple shades of red and laughing along with the crowd. Thankfully- the cast got on his case, and he skated back to the main stage before he undressed any more... then throughout the show he made a point of waving to me... to the amusement of all.

I had a hunch something was going to happen because the guy who sat us- told us to enjoy the show about 3 times.... and before the show started I wondered why he was so attentive to us! Now I know, he knew we were in the "seats". Anyhow, it was a great show and I enjoyed it very much!

Week 2: Day 1

Ok, so I have begun week two of the couch to 5K program. And it's not too bad.... I have to say that it's a great way to learn to run- since the podcast I listen to tells me when to walk and when to run, I don't have to think about it too much.

I sure hope that my ankle continues to get better, and that the doctor has figured out what is wrong with it, and that I won't have to stop training....

I just got home from spending a few days with mom. It was great to spend time with her and Jared. We had a great time- went to see a movie, went swimming and played a few games. Thanks mom for a great time! :)

Day One

today is day one of my couch to 5K program. I found a great podcast which tells me when to run and when to walk and will gradually build to straight running! Scary to think about... and kind of cool! I also signed up for a 2 mile run on Labor Day and Jared said he would join me, and then he told Clayton and now he's going to join us too! :) Go TEAM OSBORN! :) Yay us!! :)

Anyhow, that's my news for the day. I did go and buy some good running shoes yesterday- the people at the running shop were nice, and a little suprised that I was running, but that's ok, they can be, cause I still am! :)

I hope that my ankle stops hurting, it actually feels the best when I am running, and not so great when I am relaxed, weird, huh?

I am down 14.5 pounds.... keep hoping that I can reach the 15 pound mark, but it seems to run away when I get close! I go up and down a pound daily it seems.... I know it has to do with water retention sometimes... other times I think it's just my body being fickle!

I helped.... but surely didn't do this on my own! :)

But I have been working out daily and have lost 14 pounds so far, which is good for me. I am now able to jog over a mile without dieing... which is amazing. I am working hard at making a lifestyle change- eating right and working out. Actually, I am beginning to look forward to my daily routine. It's nice to get outside when it's so nice and cool in the mornings. Even with the humidity it's still been nice at 5:30am! :)

I found a great website to track my calories, exercise, and any other goal I could ever think of- check them out: www.sparkpeople.com and come and check out my sparkpeople page: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage.asp?id=VFRAZIER73

My color?

Take this test!
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

Titan Singing for his Sweets!

Way to go Adam, bribing your kid..... "sing for your sweets!"

Grandma's 80th Birthday Bash

Grandma Jean's 80th birthday was on Sunday and many of us were able to attend church with her and then we all went to her house for dinner. It was great to see so many of the family together. We missed those who were unable to be there though! It was great to see how the family is growing and all the kids are growing up so fast! :0)

Here are some older family photos. Thought I would share, hope you enjoy them. I hope that my aunts and uncles will feel free to comment on any of these to help me know what was going on these photos. :-) I can guess who most people are, but I do not know everyone. Enjoy!
