another baby shower invitation

My friend Erika is having a baby girl, and I am making the invitations for the shower held by the ladies from our ward. Here's what I have come up with so far... any suggestions to make it better? I have removed the important parts-- like the time and place, and my phone number.... can't be too careful. There are 2 options, which one do you like better? the top one or the bottom one?

My project for the weekend was creating baby shower invitations for Niki's shower. Here's what I came up with:

The "old plane" on the right has my dad when he was young in it... kinda fun to sneak "grandpa" onto the invite! :)

I deleted all of the pertinent information on this- cause who knows who's reading my blog.

Davis Monthan Air Show 2010

We went to the airshow on Saturday. It was my first ever airshow, and I LOVED it! It was soooo exciting. I loved the planes and all the great aerial-acrobatics they did. Amazing. Simply Amazing! We got to see The Patriot Jet Demonstration Team... they were GREAT!

Then we got a rare treat- a U2 came down from it's HIGH altitude to do a fly by. Apparently after leaving us he was headed back to his 60,000 ft (after receiving his clearance to do so, of course)! :) Here's a couple of pics:

It was so awesome to see! :) Then came the parachuting team. They were pretty impressive!

Then came the great bi-plane demonstration! He was amazing! Watch the video!! (will be posted next) But here's the best picture we have of him... he was kinda small compared to the other aircraft, and we don't have a telephoto lens on our little point n shoot camera!

Next came the "historical flights" with a modern day A-10 and a P-52 Mustang. (I think)-- 

 

 And then finally the event we were all waiting for, the THUNDERBIRDS!!!! :) I had witnessed them practicing Friday afternoon and got soooo excited to see them. They are amazing! Here's some pictures (and I will post video also).

Overall, we had a GREAT time, and I really enjoyed my first airshow, and I can't wait until the next one comes to town. I will definitely be attending!! Thanks for taking me Wade! I loved it!!!

at photo editing... again, playing with pics that Danelle or Jared have uploaded of their darling boy! :) Playing with the selection wand on my CM Memory Manager software, and then saturation and intensity. Kinda fun, I knew it could be done... just never tried it before.

I don't know which one I like most. I actually didn't change his eye color in the second one, just kept them blue and made everything else black n white. I love his eyes! They are gorgeous!

2nd post in 2 days... I know, shocking. I am just playing around with adding a signature to my posts. According to the directions I should have been able to add cool flourishes to it, etc... and I played around with adding more, but I like the simple look better. :D Also, I haven't decided if I really want to leave Wade's name on there, he never actually adds to the blog.... but since it's OUR blog, I guess he can stay... for now ;-)

New Blog Background...

and to think I created my own. :) I found the instructions (http://thecutestblogontheblock.com/blog-secrets/144-how-to-make-your-own-background.html) on how to make and use my own background. I have to say I did use my creative memories program to create the background (their paper and embellishments)-- so I cheated somewhat, but it is way cool to think I made my own background! :) Yeah me! And yeah for great instructions! :) It was fun and easy to do!
